Music, Movement, Dance & Storytime at Alta Plaza Park! Come clap your hands, stomp your feet, and shake your hips to the rhythm and the beat! In the JAMaROO Kids Music & Movement classes, we’ll sing traditional songs and learn original ones too (many written by our own teachers). Our music curriculum has been developed to spark creativity and incorporate imaginative play. Each month, we’ll focus on a different seasonal curriculum that incorporates the use of puppets, books, and other props to maximize the educational experience and keep classes fun and exciting! Throughout the year, our teachers will use a variety of simple instruments and introduce children to different genres of music from around the world. Through movement activities, children will build gross motor skills, directly encouraging strength, balance, and coordination. Our teachers will use bean bags, scarves, shakers, rhythm sticks, and other equipment to make classes more interactive and hands-on. At JAMaROO Kids all of our music, dance, and yoga curriculum is developed to support and foster all five key areas of development: Cognitive, Speech & Language, Gross Motor Development, Fine Motor Development, Social and Emotional. This class includes: Music, Movement, Dance, and Storytime. This session, we will focus on fun on the Enchanted Garden, Outer Space, & Insects, Gardens, and Weather! This is an 8 week session.
Meet our instructors
Andrew Roubal
Instructor
Andrew Roubal joined JAMaROO Kids this year as a full-time teacher with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theatre from CSUF and a lifetime of experience teaching children the arts. Prior to joining JAMaROO Kids, Andrew performed for over 12 years with The Walt Disney Company, both at Disneyland in CA and Disney World in FL. Andrew began dancing at the age of three and knew early on that music and dance were his passions. He has extensive experience teaching Dance, Music, Voice, Theatre and Piano. He has been hired by companies across the country and abroad to teach master classes, choreograph and adjudicate dancers of all ages. Andrew performed in the Broadway Tour of A Chorus Line, in addition to many shows for award winning Regional Theatres around the country including Goodspeed Opera House in CT and American Musical Theatre, here in San Jose. Andrew is also a professional pianist, and plays for events, shows and weddings all over the Bay Area. Early Education runs in the family and he is thrilled to share this passion, following in the footsteps of his mother who is the Director at an award-winning Preschool in the Bay Area! In his free time, Andrew enjoys exploring the California coast and beaches with his two dogs, and writing music on the piano. When asked what he loves about working at JAMaROO KIDS, he said “This is a dream come true to be able to share my passion for the arts with a new generation of children. Music, Dance and art have changed the trajectory of my life for the best, and I am so blessed to be able to share that joy and love!” Andrew’s favorite things are: Traveling, finding new restaurants, attending concerts and shows Fun Andrew Facts: He recently found he loves gardening and propagating succulents! Rainy Days/ Bad Air Days: If class can't be held outside due rain or poor air quality - class will be taught on Zoom on the same day and time as your scheduled class with your weekly teacher. An email will be sent that morning with details for the class. Refunds We do not offer refunds. If for any reason JAMaROO Kids has to cancel the class due to an emergency - we will credit you for the class or book a makeup class. Make- ups: We are now allowing two make-ups for missed classes per session. Your make-up classes must be arranged by the office and will be limited to the classes we have space in. Make-up classes do not carry over from one session to the next. SIBLING DISCOUNT Please note that the sibling discount is reserved to siblings/children residing at the same address. It is not valid for other arrangements (i.e Nanny Shares). We also require legal guardians/parents to register their children for emergency contact and liability reasons. Please do not have nannies/caregivers register on your behalf. JAMaROO Kids Referral Program If you register for a session, you can take advantage of our Referral Program any time during the session! Bring a new friend who has never attended a JAMaROO Kids class to class with you for FREE! If they register for the session after, we will add a credit for one class to your account, to be used toward a future class or session purchase. Please note: This offer includes one Free Drop-in per child in the guest family.
