Impromptu Speech Class (Grades 5-8) Location: Our New Center in Herndon Duration: 5 Weeks | 1.5 Hours Per Class This class is perfect for both beginners and more experienced middle school speakers! With a highly individualized approach, every student is challenged and supported at their unique level, ensuring steady improvement from their baseline. Designed to be energetic, engaging, and fun, this class equips students with the tools to confidently handle impromptu speaking in both academic and social settings. Impromptu speaking is one of the most critical skills for pre-teens and teens, whether they are presenting in class, participating in debates, meeting new people, or answering unexpected questions. Many students struggle to articulate their thoughts on the spot—even when they know the information. This class helps students overcome these challenges by teaching techniques that are both practical and empowering. LEARN - Understand frameworks and strategies for organizing thoughts quickly and clearly. - Explore various types of impromptu speaking, including how to respond to challenging or abstract questions. - Develop daily positive communication habits to improve speaking confidence in any situation. DO - Practice speaking skills in every class with fun, hands-on activities and games. - Collaborate with peers in a lively and supportive environment. - Receive individualized feedback that is immediately implemented to ensure improvement during each session. - Complete targeted weekly assignments to solidify skills outside of class. Special Note: For classes with more than 10 students, we’ll have two instructors to ensure every student receives personalized attention and feedback. Note: Assignments are a key part of the class.
