Join us for our latest combo class! 3:15-3:30 Open Play 3:30-4:00 Beginning Ukulele 4:00-4:15 Open Play 4:15-4:45 Intro to Music Theory and Appreciation 4:45-5:00 Open Play The Ukulele is the perfect first instrument for young children. This naturally small instrument fits so well into their small hands! JAMaROO Kids is excited to offer this Intro to Ukulele class led by Teacher Sohnjay. They bring so much joy and laughter to the classroom that your children will be sure to instill a love for music for years to come in this small group class! Children will the learn the following in this class: -Basic rhythm/strumming skills -Fostering the idea of singing/playing an instrument at the same time -Learning how to properly handle/care for an instrument -Group singing/playing -Introduction to basic pitch concepts (string names, chord names, tuning- sharp/flat) Families will need to purchase a Ukulele for this class. Children will hear samples of this music, learn about its typical instrumentation, learn to sing a song from this genre, and learn dance moves…which we will then try out as a group! We will also learn about key artists from each genre, and listen to and discuss one of their pieces. In addition, children will also be introduced to basic concepts of music theory, such as rhythm, tempo, dynamics, and timbre. Activities such as clapping out/playing basic rhythms by reading notes, identifying dynamics within a piece of music (piano- soft, forte- loud), learning and singing solfege, and identifying musical instruments within pieces will be regular parts of this class! Main Class Components: -basic theory concepts (rhythm, tempo, pitch, dynamics, timbre) -Introduction to many different genres of music -learning and performing classic dances/dance moves -learning and singing songs as a group This is a class children will work on developing and Strengthening the following: Fine motor skills, Speech and language skills, Cognitive development Creative thinking, Problem solving, Team work, Concentration, Listening Skills, Impulse Control Ensemble Singing, Matching Temp, Rhythm and Pitch 15 MINUTE EXPLORATION TIMES: We are eager to build community together as we open our JAMaROO Kids Club! We invite you to arrive up to 15 minutes before your class, and stay up to 15 minutes after your class ends, to explore our space with your littles! We simply ask that you adhere to the 15 minute windows before and after out of respect for the previous class, and the following class. This session, we will focus on fun on the Arctic, Dinosaurs, and the Enchanted Garden! This is a 6 week session for Monday classes, and 8 week session for Tuesday-Friday classes. Session package prices are adjusted accordingly.
