What your child’s day will look like

Learners are encouraged to bring their favorite Anime, Marvel Superhero, Harry Potter, etc. Funko Pop or choosing a new one they’d like to draw! Ms. Camelia will guide learners with step-by-step instructions on how to draw their very own Funko Pop. Using coloring materials such as colored pencils, crayons, and markers, learners can customize their Funko Pop to look exactly like the one they bring to class or customize it to make it their own. Instructors will facilitate friendly and collaborative conversations to encourage the learners to share ideas, connect with each other, and create new friends. This is definitely a friendly and social class and learners are encouraged to communicate with one another! Please print this outline before class: https://static.wixstatic.com/media/a5a55c_854f70f9c7bd4871aaa6a389fd9afcb2~mv2.png We offer a suggested supply list below but know that whatever your child is loving at the moment in terms of supplies is perfectly okay! Feel free to ask any questions! *IMPORTANT: ZOOM LINKS WILL BE SENT 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO CLASS* If you do not receive the link at least 15 minutes before class starts, please check your spam folder!

    Instructor

Since 2018, I’ve been involved with drawchange under different roles: administrative intern, volunteer, and now program lead. Within each role, I’ve seen how drawchange can change the life of a child through paper, crayons, paint, and other art supplies. I love being a part of drawchange because we work to understand the complexities of children’s experiences whether that’s facing homelessness, grief, natural disasters and everywhere in between. When the pandemic hit, we knew there would be new yet similar issues that children were experiencing. It was an opportunity to give more children the emotional skills and artistic capabilities to cope with adversity as a result of the pandemic. The world can be scary for a child, but drawchange makes it navigable.
