What your child’s day will look like

Learners will create a beautiful and meaningful piece of art to proudly hang in their room or on their bedroom door. Teachers will guide each student in learning how to write a letter of their name in bubble letters on canvas using markers-one big letter per canvas! Afterwards, through group participation, students will brainstorm 5-10 positive words that describe them and write those words outside of their letters. Teachers will then instruct students in filling the inside of their letter with craft materials such as pom poms, sequins, coloring materials, construction paper, and anything bright and fun at your students disposal! Not only will this project create a beautiful piece of art for your kid’s room, every time they look at it they will be reminded of how awesome they are! Return for multiple sessions to spell out your whole name! 12/6: First letter of your name 12/13: Second letter of your name, if this is your second class or first letter if this is your first class 12/20: Third letter of your name, if this is your third class or first/second letters if this is your first class 12/27: Finishing letters of your name, if this is your only class New learners can join any week, no matter the length of their name! Teachers are ready to help answer any questions about using the materials and help with the drawing. The atmosphere will be social and fun with a warm and engaging teacher. Making new friends is deeply encouraged! Classes end with show-n-tell so learners can show off their creations and receive positive feedback on their work. No prior knowledge is required. We offer Art Supply Kits but know that whatever your child is loving at the moment in terms of supplies is perfectly okay! The Zoom link will be provided after purchase and receiving the Internet Safety Pledge.

Meet our instructors

  • Jennie Lobato

    Instructor

Jennie is the founder and CEO of drawchange, a nonprofit organization she created in 2009 to share the beauty of art with impoverished children around the world. Jennie still very much remains on the ground working with children both nationally and internationally. Her dream is that every child sees firsthand the beauty they are capable of producing through art. Through this capability, their self-esteem is naturally boosted and they are empowered to be all they could be! Jennie will be sitting it on as many of our Virtual classes as she can. She can't wait to meet you and your children! Please visit drawchange.org/foundersstory to learn more about Jennie and her passion.
