I am passionate about the care of children and the significance of early learning. Currently, I am looking into study to further myself in the path towards being a paediatric psychologist after my acting course. Training in acting has fostered a core value of the importance of ‘empathy’ when engaging with my world around me. As well as providing me with a love of play and many a fun game up my sleeve. I have a years experience working for an after school childcare centre back home in Australia There, I grew in my understanding about how to help children regulate their emotions as well as encourage the growth of their pride in their own unique sense of self. The recent birth of my niece and nephew has reminded me of how much I love children, particularly watching them grow and become more confident within themselves as, with support, their own unique personalities bloom. Exposure to young ones also means that I am aware that taking care of them comes with equal parts wonder and laughter as well as wildness and meltdowns. I believe there is so much we can learn from the way children respond and engage with their new world.
