I am a bright woman with an Education qualification who has experience teaching and tutoring
| I am a young bright engaging woman with a full teaching qualification currently studying History and Politics at the London School of Economics and working with the university as a tutor for students in local schools. I have returned to education having been teaching PSHE and life skills at West Suffolk College in Suffolk for the last 6 months. Previously to this I worked as a substitute teacher in a struggling school in Suffolk teaching a wide range of subjects to students aged between 11-16. I have tutored several students through GCSE Maths while I was in school in a one on one setting as well as teaching debate to larger classes of children from the ages of 9-18. Additionally, I worked part time teaching self-esteem workshops for young girls as part of the women's charity PHEOBE. It is vital to a student’s development to be taught in an environment that does not patronise but encourages the value of learning. Understanding the value of the content of why you’re learning something is crucial and I believe I flourish in my ability to teach in such a way that does just this. I have struggled myself with dyslexia so have a good comprehension of learning need and techniques to help target these needs.

I am writing to state my experience as a Tutor working for Tutor Doctor London for at least six years under the instructive guidance of the Pedagogical Expert Donna Henry in the context of working with children, young adults and SEN students and the effect of the verbal and written advice Donna Henry provided me which was implemented by me whilst tutoring students which had an positive impact on the effective learning that was gained by the students I tutored in different academic subjects and inclusive of tutoring effective study skills. Firstly, Donna Henry would correctly match my current teaching and tutoring skills with the clients requirements. Then she would call me to ask whether I was interested in the job if I stated I was then she would verbally explain to me clearly what the clients expectation was and then she would email me a properly laid out tutoring engagement form that outlines the students learning needs inclusive of the students parents contact details. Secondly, Donna Henry would tell me to use a wide variety of teaching resources and ask me to study lesson thematic ideas from the website tes.com in order to model my lesson plan to meet the specific learning objectives contained in the Tutoring Engagement Form which she provided me beforehand to study before I start tutoring the student. Donna Henry would inform me to use the correct learning resources after consulting official guidance about varying key skills student learning framework from the Department of Education. (Dfe) She would email me updated guidance from the Dfe to ensure that I was actually complying with correct procedures before and during my student tutoring session. Thirdly and finally I was encouraged by Donna Henry to write my session reports within 24 hours of the tutorial to ensure that the client and the student could reflect on the previous tutorial and consolidate student learning and this was achieved by Donna Henry reminding me on a regular basis that it was my duty to explain to students with examples how to solve different categories of challenges that involved learning different subject themes rather than expect the student to work it out themselves in order to ensure that student learning is taking place. Finally Donna Henry stressed the importance of learning from client feedback to enhance a professional relationship between Tutor and Student in every circumstances. Donna Henry also encouraged Tutors to engage and complete professional Tutoring courses which I completed two different tutoring courses with Tutor Skills and these courses as Donna told me would help me improve my tutoring capability with clients and I agree with her opinion as it has helped me improve my tutoring capability."

Carla is a godsend. Such a special and bright light on this planet. She stepped in to help with our 4 month old and from day one he was in love. We've seen them bond through her playful nature and beautifully honest and caring disposition. She has been flexible when it comes to our needs/hours and as a new mom I'm so grateful to say I'm 100% comfortable leaving Carla to tend to our baby.
