Caring about others and putting people first has always been part of who I am. Through careful consideration I have come to the realisation that my personal qualities and compassionate nature are best suited for a career in the caring profession. I have attended a placement at a local nursing home for 6 months, once a week. There I was able to assist the nurses and interact with the residents and understand how to react in difficult situations. I have also been placed within the Ailsa hospital within an elderly mental health ward, where I worked for 8 months. I am currently working in a local nursing home as a carer. I've experience with children too. I've had experience at a local nursery and primary school where I worked for a couple of months. Through University, I have attended various elderly placements where I gained a great amount of knowledge and skill to be confident in caring for the elderly.
