I volunteered at a Primary School for 4 months as a teaching assistant and I spent a considerable amount of time as a one on one support for children with learning difficulties and autism in Nursery, Reception, Year 2 and Year 4. I was trusted by the school to work with these children, so I got to know them, what they like and don't like. We had lots of fun together and enjoyed doing lots of activities together. I also volunteer as a Sunday School Teacher and Creche Supervisor and in my Sunday School class is a boy with autism. I incorporate him into the lessons, encouraging the other children to engage and play with him and I ensure that he is relaxed and enjoying.
