Zoology at the University of Birmingham, currently in 3rd year. My aim is to develop my knowledge of animal behaviour and conservation in order to contribute to the wider community aiming to improve animal welfare in the wild, in captivity and in homes.
At Uni I walk dogs a few times a week from the local area.
July 2019- October 2019: Volunteering at Diana Brimblecombe animal rescue centre, cleaning and caring for animals. Becoming accustomed to working with animals who have not been treated well and learning how to socialise animals.
I have had hamsters, gerbils, chickens, cats and guinea pigs most of my life. So I am very well practised in animal care.
I have spent time with an assistance dog maintaining his training, taking him on walks and caring for him. Caring for him included giving medication, feeding, cleaning and maintaining training.
Over summer in 2023 I cared for a spaniel, after adjusting to his recall training I began being able to let him off the leash.
