I have looked after children for family friends and I have also had work experience at a nursery in Portsmouth. I have looked after children that are early school age (6/7) and for this I helped with homework, getting the children washed and ready for bed, made lunches and breakfasts that were healthy and suitable, took the children on days out to the park, and got the children ready for school in the morning. I also have looked after younger children at the nursery where the ages ranged from 5 months to 2 years of ages. The duties I had at the nursery were to feed children with a bottle, engage them in playing, help the children to sleep during nap times, helping set up lunch times, cleaning and sterilising children's toys at the end of the day. I am passionate about childcare because the early years of a child's life are the most important for their development of social skills. I feel that it's important for a child to be in a loving, encouraging and supportive environment, and with one to one childcare, I feel that I can provide that. I have a recent DBS check, I'm first aid trained, child first aid trained, training in safeguarding and basic life support. I also regularly look after my housemates young boys who are 4 and 5.
