| I tutored with the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland Catholic District School Board for two years while studying at Trent University. Throughout my first year as a tutor in Peterborough, I worked at St. Anne's Elementary in a grade 2/3 and another grade 3 classroom. I helped the students read, write and speak in French and English, and I also helped with the grade 3 EQAO mathematics preparations and testing. I have spoken French for the past 20 years and I studied French throughout my Undergrad and even in France for eight months. In another opportunity, I worked with six grade 2 students. I helped them practice their writing, reading and speaking skills while also encouraging them to read at home and practice their writing on their own. My experience as a tutor with young elementary-aged children has helped me discover what I want to do in the future whether that be teaching or working as a developmental educator. I really enjoy spending time with children and I hope to continue working with them in the future.
