| Hi!! I'm Jo, and I am a super enthusiastic and patient tutor. With more than a decade of tutoring experience, I love helping students of all ages and abilities through the tough problems in math and science. I hold a degree in Microbiology and a minor in Math from the University of Washington. I have also worked in the public school system and am very comfortable with the curriculum. I specialize in helping students (of all ages!) improve their base of understanding in these tough subjects, while keeping a focus on improving one's grades. There is no challenge too small or great! From understanding the beginnings of algebra, chemistry, biology, and physics to to upper level calculus, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and p-chem, I can help. I love to work through sticky problems and find different ways to solve and understand this material. Let's get a jump start on the school year!

| Hi! I'm Laurie, I have been tutoring Math and Physics for 15 years now across 3 different continents. I graduated in 2007 from the University of Leeds with a 1st class degree in Mathematics, with International honours from Pennsylvania State University. I love to teach, I have been teaching and coaching in one way or another since I was 16, and take great pride in every lesson I've given. I work full time for the ski school in Whistler, and am available for tutoring any evening. I have been tutoring Maths and Physics part time to high school students in various countries around the world. I have experience teaching IB, the english curriculum, and high school syllabi from Canada, US, UK, Australia and New Zealand. I believe in student-centred learning. All students are different and learn in different ways, and in a 1 on 1 setting it is possible to tailor each lesson to suit the student. When it comes to precise and logical subjects such as Maths and Physics, I believe very strongly in teaching students not just how to do something, but why to do it, which I believe is lacking in most classrooms. It is only by understanding the foundations that students can think independently and approach problems with confidence.
