A meaningful career working with children with disabilities.

I have spent a year as an EA with a boy in grade 2 with non verbal autism, as well I have personal experience with 3 boys with autism on a regular basis, with whom I feel very comfortable around. I grew up with my cousin who is also autistic, and have learnt much through him and his parents about understanding his needs. My daughter’s brother on the other side of her family has PCH3, and although I don’t spend a lot of time with him, he is in my circle as well.
My closest friend was an EA in the public school board; she is the one with the 3 boys with special needs. She is one of my personal references, as she has seen me on a weekly basis with her boys, and knows how passionate I am about them.
My mom has retired from the school system, having been a teacher, vice principal and principal in the Catholic division, and I have learnt much from her both in terms of work ethic and dedication. I understand and appreciate her love for children and teaching, as I feel the same way.
