Cognitive dissability support worker
|
I am a disability support worker, who has lived in Saskatchewan for the past 10 years. I did not go to school for this career but have fallen madly in love with it over my last 8 years of support work. I was working in my career as a photojournalist when I started supporting at Creative options Regina once a week. Within 6 months of doing this, I knew I had found my passion and a career I finally connected with. I quit journalism and invested myself into this world. I took every training that my employer would offer me and moved into an assistant team lead position 5 years ago. This organization practices gentle teaching which has helped me develop as a compassionate strong person and I look forward to sharing those skills with other organizations.
Unfortunately despite creating great connections and loving the "work" I do, I haven't enjoyed being so far from family. I would love to find a way to continue doing work i am passionate about, but in the east coast. I moved to Miramichi at the end of December and I would love to hear about any positions you think may suit my qualifications.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have for me.
Thank you in advance for your consideration
