I am current a 4th-year Forensic Psychology student at Wilfrid Laurier University. Through my eduction I have taken courses that have provided me with a deeper understanding of mental health, intellectual & developmental impairments, and related topics.
Furthermore I also have pervious experience working in a Community Home setting. To which I have had the privilege of working with individuals who face various challenges such as behavioral issues, mental health difficulties, cognitive impairments, and intellectual disabilities. These challenges include schizophrenia, anxiety, trichotillomania, dementia, and down syndrome. As a Residential Worker, my daily responsibilities included but are not limited administering medication, providing personal hygiene assistance, offering emotional support, and supporting daily living tasks such as food preparation, transportation for appointments, and excursions, among others. I also have experience working with individual who are quadriplegic to which i would asset in a emptying the catheter, dressing and cleaning pressure sores, personal hygiene, etc.
