I have 25yrs experience working in senior care and professionally at senior care facilities. I'm also a trained Shiatsu Therapist, mother.
Most recent work has been with a Colonel in the Canadian Airforce and since 2003 seniors contracted in Dufferin County.
My daughter recently described me as someone who's never late for an appointment, something I take pride in. I always take a strong work ethic, even when confronted with challenging cases which my experience in senior care has exposed me to a number of times.
I started PSW work at Avalon back in 1992, after that I went to Shiatsu school in Toronto in the late 90s. I then practiced massage therapy, before focusing full time working as a PSW.
- Assist clients carry out their activities of daily living
- Worked with residents who had various disabilities, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, MS, and the terminally ill
- Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills: listen well, able to read facial expressions, tone of voice and body posture, keep accurate written records and report any changes
- Follow care plan for each client so that their needs are met
