Senior Care in Brossard

| Having over 5 years of experience as a Home Caregiver for senior CLSC’s patients has allowed me to develop a great understanding of their needs and the importance of making them safe and comfortable. My responsibilities included personal care, cooking, feeding, companionship and light house cleaning.I was able to create a strong trusting relationship with my patients, which has improved the quality of their lives. In addition, I have completed a Home and Nurse's Aide Course and I am recognized in my field as compassionate, patient and attentive to detail.

| I am originally from a small Island in East Canada living in Brossard,Quebec since 2008. My native language is English Origin is Irish Scottish Acadian and native. Since I was very young I have always helped with the elderly whether it was going to the senior home or helping my grand parents. My grandfather had Alzheimer’s and I bathed him,dressed him and fed him while keeping him company when my grandmother was to sick herself. along with cleaning,cooking and laundry. When he past my grandmother then got sick and I would dye hair,give her pedicures and the house work and groceries also go with her to the doctors. I loved spending time with her listening to her stories about the old days and how it was so different. It was a blessing to help them. I don’t have a degree but I have a lot of experience with give amazing care to people. My personality is sensitive to the needs and emotions of others around me,organized,honestly,gentle,thoughtful,great listener,Independent. | I have been working in Telecommunications for the past 23 years (same company). I am at a place in my life that I am seeking more meaningful human contact. Giving back is my passion. My mother was a nurse working with geriatrics. I also volunteered at Royal Victoria for several summers as a teen with geriatrics. I am bilingual, patient, respectful and eager to serve and give back to the community. I took care of my mother who had a stroke that left her left side weakened. For several years I was dedicated to her self care. I understand the mental, physical and emotional toll it takes on a family. I am eager to learn, serve and connect with new people who still have a lot to offer. I have my CPR & First Aid course recently completed (Aug 2023) as my first move to be prepared for taking care of others.

| I assist my clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring and getting to and from bed, preparing healthy meals. | I have 1+ years experience working with seniors in senior residences, and also one on one in their homes. My day - to - day itinerary results in cooking, domestic house keeping, daily care of senior, assisting them to medical appointments if needed. Available to work days, evenings, and nights. Prior to immigrating to Canada, I was a NICU Nurse in my home country.

| I have work with a lot of patients. My first one when I arrive here in Canada was very challenging one a senior with Alzheimer and I'm doing night shift at first it yes really very challenging but I have gain a lot of knowledge dealing with him and his ailments it was my great eye opener for that being a care giver is not a walk in the park or just a job. You have to have a lot of compassion, patience and a big heart in order for you perform deliver the optimal care for them. And then I have work in a hospital setting and also gain a lot knowledge with regards to every patients with all their challenges(sickness) now patient is old man is a stroke victim. I always give my very best to all the patients that I worked also I worked with my heart for them I cared as if if they are my mother and father.

I have background in medical fields; medication administration, wound dressing, taking vital signs. My last job as a private caregiver for senior; apart from assisting and supervising ADL, arranged and taking client to doctor’s appointments, coordinated with multi healthcare team if there’s any changes in client’s health. Encouraged and maintained client’ mobility and social activities. I prioritized client’s welfare and safety. My motto is to work faithfully and conscientiously.
