I have over a decade of experience tutoring and/or educating children in both home and school settings. I have a Bachelors of Applied Science in Child, Youth, and Family which also has given me the skills to teach in a way that understands the social aspects needed to successfully educate youth. Because of this schooling and teaching background, I am comfortable creating a curriculum to tailor to a student's needs or able to teach from provided content. My approach to teaching is to be student-focused: the needs of the student will guide how I work with them. When teaching or tutoring I also ensure I am coming from a place of patience and understanding because no two students are the same. I also think it's important to make this time fun! Whether students love or hate doing homework, I find including fun elements into sessions make students more likely to engage and commit to forming better working habits.
