I have worked with children from diverse backgrounds and a wide range of abilities, so I am always adapting my teaching style to best accommodate a child's unique needs and interests. My goal is to provide hands-on learning experiences and I encourage students to embrace opportunities that will lead to both academic and personal growth. I love for instruction to be FUN, I understand the incredible value of a child-directed approach to learning and I am always thinking about how I can facilitate "teachable moments". Sometimes this means providing a more structured learning environment where children feel safe to go outside of their comfort zone, challenging themselves in ways that foster the resilience and grit needed to successfully navigate everyday situations both in and out of school. After completing my Master's in Education from The George Washington University in Washington, DC, I received my teacher licensure in Special Education in DC and VA and I am certified to teach in BC.
