Hello! My name is Maggie. I have been writing creatively since the age of 12, and take great joy in helping children gain confidence and fluency in their own reading and writing. In early 2021, I took a course offered by Shawna Audet in Dyslexia Awareness, and am now certified to tutor children with dyslexia and other reading struggles through use of the Orton Gillingham method. For the summers of 2021 and 2022, I have enjoyed employment as a summer tutor through the Step Up program, offered by the Smithers Community Services Association. When this summer comes to an end, I will be returning for a third year to my post as a special education assistant at Bulkley Valley Christian School, where I specialize in one-on-one literacy interventions and support.
