Initially, during middle school and high school, I’ve helped a lot of my friends and other junior students study math and physics by teaching them different tips and tricks that I picked up to solve problems (I volunteered to teach underprivileged students too). But after I began university, I started teaching more conceptually, mainly explaining the background theory in a simple way so that it’s not forgettable. My main goal is to try my best to make everyone understand and not encourage memorizing unnecessarily. But this is a double-edged sword, especially for a tutor as it takes a lot of time. I believe it is both a good and a bad method considering schooling is very fast paced in North America but I hope I can learn and improve from future experiences.
