Hi! My name is Katrina and I am currently studying Criminology at SFU. I am a patience and caring individual that is generally loved by kids. Children generally listen to me because I understand them and I have my own way of communicating with them. I personally want four kids myself so I am prepared for naughty and nice children. I speak English, Cantonese, and Mandarin fluently and understand a little bit of French and Korean. I have one year experience at a tutoring centre where I taught in groups of six. However, I have lots of experience in teaching friends' children and babysitting them with ease. I prefer teaching toddlers up to grade 7 because I believe it is important for them to build a strong base at a young age and have someone that they can trust. I also like teaching ESL students. I grew up in a traditional Chinese family so I bring manners into my teachings as well. In addition, my schooling has also taught me how to distinguish different personality in kids and what method of care should be used on each child. I believe that every child is special in their own ways and it is up to the caretakers and teachers to find the positive traits and nurture them to make the child realize their strengths.
