As an educator, my strategy for helping students is simple: recognize the barriers that exist, address them, and design a strategy to move forward. I do not believe that 'laziness' exists. Students are only held back by barriers that perhaps they themselves may not understand. My job is to uncover these barriers and to work with students to meet their learning needs. If this sounds like you, I may be able to help. I have been teaching secondary students for seven years in the subjects of English, Ethics, Media Arts, and Film. My specialty lies in helping students fine-tune their writing skills in order to communicate more effectively. Some of my other specialties include: - Essay proof-reading, structuring and revision - Research and source citing help - Understanding and meeting assessment criteria - Help with college/university entrance essays - Help with college/university portfolios - Help with Theory of Knowledge (IB) essay development I have extensive experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme curriculum and with both BC and Ontario provincial curriculum.
