I recently graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. During my time as a Psychology student, I had the opportunity to teach both children and adults with learning disabilities during my three placements. This exposed me to a variety of individuals in a variety of settings including elementary schools, preschools and community based non-profit organizations. During my most recent placement, I had the pleasure of working alongside and supporting children with ADHD as well as children with dual diagnosis in a school setting. In working alongside the special education department, I became very familiar with IEPs and the implementation of educational adaptations to ensure student success. I also developed a wide spectrum of teaching strategies to tailor to many different types of learners. I gained experience creating and carrying out lesson plans in math, english, science and history. I have a passion for working with children and seeing them succeed in the educational environment!
