Having the experience to work with students who are developing their skills in reading, writing, math and science subjects is a very rewarding experience. I have worked with Kumon as an assistant teacher and as a private tutor with a tutoring company. I graduated at UofT and received a HBSc in chemistry, so my background in science is excellent. I would love to start a new homework help service for afterschool children learning how to read or just need that little bit of help. I think reading is super important to learn as it coincides with writing and comprehension. I am trying a new thing in helping students with having fun with reading and continuing to learn as they grow, and I have always had a passion of seeing success in my students. I am hoping to work within a library nearby so they can familiarize themselves with the vast amount of book genres they are interested in, but also familiarize themselves with the sources that libraries continue to offer instead of just being in front of a screen. I am hoping to schedule a time after-school for 1-2 students to a nearby library where we can start the fun of reading and comprehension/homework help and willing to definitely travel within the area to different libraries.
