I’ve just finished my first year as an educational program assistant and it was the best year I’ve had. I truly fell in love with the job and have grown really fond of working with kids and teenagers of all ages with special needs. I have supported students with medical needs, personal care, behavioural support, ADHD, autism, and down syndrome. I have worked with many students with special needs and my favourite part every time was becoming their friend in the process.
