I have lived, worked with ADHD all my life along with other high functioning learning disorders as a mentor/confidant threw means of volunteer programs. I have ADHD and yes it is controlled as through the years I have learned coping skills that have helped me immensely. I now am a care giver for people with physical disorders and that are chronic/terminally ill due to disease. With these people I teach them to live for today and be happy they are still here and promote independence, self worth, dignity and to be their own advocate. I also help them realize that having a disability is not the end of the world but rather the beginning of their world and that it is okay to be different.
