I have dealt with people of all different disabilities. I am very loving and patient with these residents. I have learnt over the years that they get just as frustrated as some staff, but as the worker, I have learnt everyone has different ways to deal with this. I am calm to a situation and assess what may be the right way to handle the situation. Treating them like they are your family is the key to gain their trust and become that security to them. I love working with people as I find it very rewarding to know I can give this much attention and love to people who sometimes just don't understand the needs of that person, a little time and well patients is all they need and we need to be the best we can be as a worker for them, gaining their trust is a key factor.
