Hello! I have been immersed in the disability community nearly all my life as I have a younger sister with Down Syndrome. I began to babysit for other families and many who had children with disabilities. I was a nanny for 4 families in the first few years after High School graduation, one of which had a son on the Autism Spectrum. I then began to do community and family support work for individuals with disabilities. I worked for the Robin Hood Association in Sherwood Park and was privately hired by families. I still provide support work for individuals and kept up this work throughout my degree at the University of Alberta. Most recently I worked as an Educational Assistant in a Kindergarten class with children who have disabilities. I love what I do and who I support. I pride myself on tailoring my care to the individual and their family! I have provided a huge variation of care from personal care (hygiene, and toileting) to coordinating volunteer opportunities and employment.
