Hi! My name is Sapira I have a lot of experience working with people with a range of abilities, both on the physical and cognitive spectrum. Though I am 21 years old, I have done disability work my entire life both as a volunteer and in paid positions. Most of my time has been spent with people from 5 months to 35, but I have also worked with seniors. I follow the social approach and method that focuses on maximal integration and ability focused. I worked at a sleepaway camp in BC for people with a range of abilities, and though I am not a licenced PSW, I was formally trained in many of the skills required to work with a group of individuals with various needs. In the past, I also have worked in spaces with a medical understanding and approach to disability. While I understand that philosophy profoundly, I have preferred to shift my focus on a model based on positive-reinforcement and behavioral support.
