I have cared for persons with ALS for over 10 years throughout the full progression of the disease from when the patient struggled to walk to when the person was bed-ridden and lost the ability to speak and required a communication device to communicate. I performed lung suctioning and cough assisting on a daily basis. I provided bed baths, prepared meals when it was possible, as well provided took the patient o walks when appropriate.
