I have been professionally accompanying children and adults with developmental disabilities since 2012. In the summer of 2012, I was the Classroom Aide for children with autism at Clear Horizons Academy Utah. That summer, I accompanied adults in RAH, Recreation and Rehabilitation Services, an organization in Utah which facilitated programs and activities supportive of persons with developmental disabilities. I also worked at the Provo Care Center, where I provided direct care for 35 persons with developmental disabilities. Toward the end of the year, I returned to Arkansas to continue university and accompany a young adult through the Benton County Sunshine School, assisting this person with activities in daily living. From 2014 until present, I have collaborated with an organization , where persons with and without disabilities commit to living daily life together in an intentional community. Assistants provide direct support while honoring priority to relationships.
