I've spent most of my life taking care of children who are differently abled. I started at 13 with a couple of adopted children with FAS teaching Sunday School. I often babysat cousins, neighbours and family friend's children who had different learning difficulties. At 19 I started volunteer work at a local school with the Special Education Department and later earned my certification as an Education Assistant through Northern Lights College. Throughout my 20s and 30s I worked various jobs privately tutoring children on the Spectrum, Autistic, FAS, ADD/ADHD and others with learning barriers.
