I am a part-time social work student at the University of Waterloo. I love working with children of all ages, and I have experience with infants, school-age children, and youth. I am a friendly, patient and supportive person, and believe that everyone has room for growth and improvement, and I love assisting in this. I have experience working with Extend-A-Family for 2 years, where I worked with a 7 year old boy who had mild autism. I also have worked for the YMCA for the past year in a recreational after-school program, where I have spent most of my time working one-on-one with the children with special needs: ADD/ADHD, mild autism/Asperger's, and a rare developmental disability, similar to autism. This was definitely a challenging, yet rewarding experience!
