Right out of first year of Practical Nursing school I started working with a client who had Global Developmental Delay and Cerebral Palsy. This was because I was able "to handle the challenge". I enjoyed this family, but I ended up in a coma in 2016. I have been familiarized with special needs clients as I have a Learning Disability and I learned how to read aloud by reading to the special needs student in my class in grade 2. I have won awards for my volunteering, but I just enjoy giving back. I received an award from former Toronto mayor Mel , a Buddhist Compassion Award and a Darlene Memorial Award. I have volunteered for various causes, including as a Disability Advocate at Tobias House. For these reasons, I would be a great worker for you.
