I have over a year of experience working with individuals with special needs. I am very adaptable and learn quickly. I have a diploma in Addiction Studies which is a very parallel field to disabilities. For the past year, I have been working closely with a young woman with Dravet syndrome. I am comfortable dealing with seizures, low cognitive abilities, full self-care, and G-tube feeding. During the past year, I have also worked with a young man with autism, who is also mostly deaf and blind. Working with this individual has given me experience with non-verbal communication, managing anxiety and aggressive behavior. I am an extremely patient and caring person. I believe that every individual is entitled to bodily autonomy and take that very seriously. I promote community engagement.
