I have been working within the 1-on-1 support field for about 4 and a half years, starting as an Educational Assistant at an elementary school in Alberta. Since moving to Vancouver island, I have been working with Recreation Oak Bay as an Inclusion instructor, working with many children with varying special needs, from autism & down syndrome to being wheelchair bound or struggling with mental health issues. I enjoy relating to the kids I work with, becoming both a friend and a leader to them. Working in this field makes me happy knowing I am making a difference in the lives of the children I work with, as I do my best to make sure they have the best days!
