I am currently an Educational Assistant with the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board. I currently work in a classroom within a high school setting where we work with our students to gain independence in daily life skills and social interaction. I was previously employed with Brantwood Community Services as a Direct Support Professional for six years, where I was able to support individuals with complex medical and developmental disabilities, as well as those struggling with behavioural challenges. In these employment opportunities I have demonstrated strong leadership when dealing with crisis situations that may occur. I have been able to participate in several professional development opportunities including Suicide ASIST training, Picture Exchange Communication training as well as multiple ABA courses with the school board through Sonderly. I hope to implement the skills I have developed, in order to better the lives of the people supported.
