I have worked in child care for over two and a half years with children of ages ranging from 5-12. Within my years of child care I have had the ability to work with a wide range of children with varying needs. I found that I have been able to develop successful relationships with each one of these children in order to provide them with the best care. I lived with my sister who was a supportive roommate at the time, which served as a great way to shadow the daily routines that needed to be worked out. Within the time that I was living with her, my sister had MS which gave me the opportunity to help her provide the support needed. My other sister who manages a day program has had me come out with them and help support her two clients as some on the job training. Spending time with them has led me towards the realization of how rewarding and impactful being a personal support worker really is. With my current employer I have had the ability to work with a child who has autism and I really enjoyed the opportunity. I am a very fast learner with great work ethics and I’m in excellent physical shape. I am an individual with a lot of ambition, and will always strive towards going above and beyond any expectations.
