My name is Erica. I’m 30 years old and have a true passion for helping others. I’m a hard-working, optimistic and empathetic person who is dedicated to using my time and energy to provide care for those in need. I studied Correctional Intervention in CEGEP and have worked as an Educator with Batshaw Youth and Family Centres. I am currently completing my B.A. in Psychology with aspirations to pursue graduate school in Occupational Therapy. I also volunteer in the psychiatry unit at the Jewish General Hospital providing companionship to patients. Over the years, I have provided care for my grandfather who was battling a terminal illness, and my grandmother who received a cancer diagnosis which resulted in a major surgery that left her with reduced mobility and ongoing visits to the hospital. I have developed a profound understanding of the unique needs and sensitive nature of vulnerable populations. My belief is that providing consistent and dependable support, fostering engagement through appropriate activities and conversation, and incorporating gentle physical activity (if possible) can profoundly enhance well-being.
