I am passionate about this area of care-giving because it is so close to me. My lovely and indefinitely happy 21 year old sister has a severe learning disability including speech delays, physical movement troubles and more. I have grown up by her side and learned so much from her. In growing up, I have lived along by her side with many of the the daily tasks that come with a mental disability. As a result of growing up with her by my side, I have learned patience, understanding, and the importance of being inclusive and welcoming. I have experience with those who are blind, children with dwarfism and other genetic disabilities. I worked at a stables for a few years which involved helping those with disabilities to learn to ride horses. Overall, I love helping to allow those who have disabilities no matter the magnitude feel included and just like everyone else!
