For 5 years, I was the primary companion for my elderly grandmother with dementia. I was responsible for taking her to her appointments and ensuring that she had some physical and recreational activity. When I would visit her, I would see so many other seniors who were lonely and could benefit from having a companion to care for them and take an interest in their well being. Since her passing, I have felt called to provide care for other seniors in her honor.
