My name is Rita. I am a compassionate curious person who is interested in making a positive impact I the lives of seniors. Me in a nut shell: I'm all I am 32, I've lived and traveled across the world and returned to the Nelson area 3 years ago. I have volunteered as an activity aid for with adults with brain trauma, have volunteered for companionship visits with seniors at the Trail Hospital. I have 15+ years experience working with children in child care. I have my level 3 first aid and have worked as the onsite medic at several jobs. I have a small private catering business as work as a back country cook. I am a herbalist and also sell my wild foraged herbal tea blends and skin care products. Many elders have made a positive impact on my life and I feel that returning the favor, so to speak, would be a very fulfilling role for me. My experience working in housekeeping, as a chef, and in hospitality management roles gives me a well-rounded set of skills. My love of human connection and interest in the lives of seniors and the stories and knowledge they have to share. This, along with my desire to create a positive impact are what inspire me to work in senior care.
