I graduated with my care-aid certificate in 2000. Since then I have worked in numerous facilities, in-home private care and in a residential group home. The clientele I have worked with over this time range from youth with cerebral palsy to adults with ALS and MS. I also have experience working with quadriplegics and seniors with Alzheimer's disease, as well as mentally and physically challenged adults in a residential group home setting. Although I have found all of my experiences caring for a variety of individuals rewarding and purposeful, my passion remains with caring for the senior population. I have an innate ability to interact with seniors primarily because of growing up as one of the youngest members in a large family. This created a natural bond, an understanding and respect of the elderly population.
