Hi there, My name is Melissa. I graduated with my Health Care Aide certificate in 2016 and have been working as an HCA ever since. I have experience in long term care, assisted living and home care. I have worked with all types of dementia, ranging from mild to severe. I also have worked with multiple palliative clients along with many other types of diagnosis's. I have training with lifts, administrating medication, catheter and colostomy care, as well as how to work with oxygen administrating. The only experience I don't have is tube feeding and suctioning, but have been taught in school. I chose this profession as I love making a difference in people's lives. I take a huge amount of pride in the type of care I provide. The care I provide for my clients is always patient and compassionate. I believe it is important to be able to put yourself in someone else's shoes and you may not always be able to understand but you can always sympathize.
