As a nurse working 31 years, I have some LTC experience from the hospital setting as well as at a health care centre in Guelph. I currently work full time for hospice in Guelph, and my rotation consist of seven, twelve hour shifts in two weeks. I'm looking for some private care jobs outside of my current job to supplement my income. I am a member in good standing with the College of Nurses on Ontario which means I can practice with no restrictions and have never been disciplined by the college. I have always enjoyed working with the older population and many of the clients I serve now in my current job fall into this category. I treat all my clients as the individuals that they are and do my best to advocate for them. The ability to advocate is the most important thing a nurse can do, if client centred care is the goal.
