I enjoyed a diverse and rewarding 22 year career in nursing (BScN) including primary care (family doctor's office), international health, public health and peds and am glad to now transition to a role less demanding but equally rewarding: caregiving + companionship. I have always valued and loved the caregiver role. I was a caregiver to my precious Grandma who had dementia and died of Covid at age 100, and I continue to visit my other Grandma who lives on her own and is 98! I have volunteered as a friendly visitor in nursing homes / retirement residences and am very comfortable interacting with people of all ages. I do not have recent PSW-type experience (eg. transferring, incontinence care) but would be keen to receive a refresher from you. I have excellent professional, volunteer and personal references. My availability through the summer is irregular. Beginning in September, I will have Mon-Tues-Wed availability (and occasionally weekends).
