My favourite pastime was being around seniors in any capacity I could as a youngster. Through my experiences, I have learnt that every elderly individual and/or their family, comes with a story, journey and way of doing things that is unique to them. I value that uniqueness and as such, I let them guide me in how best to support them while maintaining safety as the utmost priority. I have gained experience from taking care of both my grandmothers, my grandfather and also my previous father-in-law until the time they left this earth, as well as spending vast amounts of extended periods with many seniors. I have an understanding of dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and many other aspects of senior care. My goal is to fulfill family and person-centred requirements while learning and acknowledging independence, comfort and holistic wellness and to do it all in a way that I wish to have for myself, should I be fortunate enough to experience senior living.
