Hello, I have been working in a long term care home for 7 months now and I have learned and grown as an individual tremendously. And I learned how much I love working with the elderly people in my community. My role as an RSA has been to do non related care duties such as help at meal times observing the residents and making sure they are eating safely and properly, helping residents call there loved ones, taking mobile residents who use walkers to the washroom, doing activities 1 on 1 with the resident that they enjoy such as arts and crafts, puzzles, reading, listening to music, taking them for walks etc, helping residents with exit seeking distracting them and making conversation, sitting and observing residents while they are in bed sleeping and or resting.
